FC Barcelona to Host Inaugural Match at Upgraded Camp Nou this Saturday
The club confirmed they will play at the still-under-construction Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome the Bilbao team in the Spanish league 30 months after they moved out for construction to commence.
“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity though over 45,000 attendees are permitted inside under the licence granted. When completed, the stadium’s capacity will reach close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. Officials confirmed finished work included a renovated tunnel for players along with upgraded changing facilities.
Stadium Testing
The club conducted a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium in early November. Officials stated they were hoping for permission from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game versus the German side on 9 December at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
