Expedition 33 Dominates at the 2025's Golden Joystick Awards
The forty-third annual Golden Joystick Awards unfolded on Thursday, and in a stunning display, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the most decorated winner. The breakout role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive won the coveted Top Game award, along with prizes for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.
Enhancing the developer's triumph, the talented actors also garnered personal awards. Jennifer English received Best Lead Performer for her performance as Maelle, while Ben Starr earned Supporting Performance Award for his work as Verso. Additionally, Sandfall Interactive itself was honored as Studio of the Year. Overall, Clair Obscur and its makers collected 7 awards throughout the show.
Additional major winners featured Ghost of Yōtei, which was awarded Outstanding Audio and Console Game of the Year, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, honored with Best Indie Game (Self-Published) and Best PC Game. Worth mentioning, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the audience, with only four awards—Critics' Pick, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame inductee, and Streamers’ Choice—judged by experts.
