Wilfried Nancy insisted he had no concerns about the sack, claiming, “We are extremely close to things turning around,” despite edging perilously close to being fired with a comprehensive defeat by their arch-rivals.

A Second-Half Collapse Leads to Derby Loss

“Really, Really Close”

The coach continues to cling to the fact his team can perform strongly for a half at a time. For instance, were it not for poor finishing they would have been more than 1-0 up. “The performance had merit except the fact that we haven’t scored our chances,” he said. “I acknowledge that we lost, but I must remain objective.

“The performance we had at times was exceptionally high. This is the reality. And I would not speak so positively if it was different. Therefore, when it comes to wins, I mentioned it's a repeating pattern. That’s why I feel we are nearly there to things turning around. Currently: the fine margins.”

“There were plenty of positives that we did, once more. The issue now is consistency. My outlook would be different the same. Therefore I firmly believe we will manage to get back on track.”

The Rangers Boss Response

Danny Röhl was cautious about a serious challenge in spite of what appeared to be a statement victory. “One match at a time, then we can gradually build momentum,” he said. “The belief in the squad is immense.”
