American-Palestinian Adolescent Liberated After Nine Months in Israel's Detention

An American-Palestinian teenager having endured 270 days in imprisonment by Israel without being charged was released.

The teenager Mohammed Ibrahim was 15 during his detention last February throughout the West Bank territory, while he was vacationing while residing in Florida for allegedly throwing stones toward Israeli settlers, which he previously denied.

United States authorities expressed satisfaction with the teenager's freedom.

Currently aged sixteen, was taken to hospital right after being freed, according to close relatives.

They said he is pale, underweight, while battling health issues developed during imprisonment.

Via family representatives, Mohammed's uncle expressed the family's "tremendous relief".

Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" during the entire detention period.

"Right now, we're concentrating on providing Mohammed with prompt healthcare he needs after experiencing Israel's abuse and cruel circumstances for months."

The state department said it would continue to provide consular support to the teenager's relatives.

{"The Trump Administration gives utmost importance to ensuring the safety of American nationals"," officials stated.

Twenty-seven US lawmakers had signed a letter to the state department and the administration, urging greater action for his freedom.

The father, with four children who runs an ice cream business in Florida, previously claimed his child admitted guilt regarding stone throwing due to physical abuse.

The father hadn't visited or spoken to Mohammed following the detention, receiving updates exclusively regarding the treatment in detention through court documents.

Mohammed was held without charge within Ofer penitentiary throughout the occupied territory.

Additionally housing grown detainees, featuring prisoners sentenced for major terrorist activities and murder.

An estimated 350 Palestinian minors in security custody detained within Israeli facilities, based on prison authority data.

Several lack formal charges and human rights groups, as well as the United Nations, document cases involving physical abuse and torture.

Following Mohammed's release, Mr Kadur said the family would also continue fighting for justice for his cousin family member Sayfollah.

This young American-Palestinian who the Palestinian health ministry said died from beating by Israeli settlers during a confrontation last July.
