Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Touch Down in UK Due to Fracture in Windshield
A jet transporting the US defense secretary was forced to make an unscheduled landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the jet's front window, as stated by an official statement which stated that Hegseth was safe.
"The jet touched down in accordance with established safety measures and everyone onboard, among them Pete Hegseth, is safe," an official representative commented in a public statement.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to Brussels when the incident occurred.
This event is not the initial instance that a US military aircraft ferrying a senior official has suffered mechanical issues.
Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane transporting Marco Rubio to Munich was forced to return to the US capital after suffering a technical issue.
